The rant is venting. The moment passes. Sometimes you just need to release it. And later on you regain a measured perspective.
Does anyone else feel like titling it "rant" isn't enough? That saying you're upset and this is how you feel and you need to say this and it's okay if people disagree but just let me say my peace might not be enough? Sometimes a rant is met with the "well, you're not exactly approaching this with an open-minded perspective" response. Well, yeah. I know. I'm ranting. :)
Maybe we need a new disclaimer for it. "Here lies a rant. It is extreme and charged with emotion. It is not generous and open-minded. You will likely find sweeping statements within. You will not find my arguments made in a zen state. The zen post will follow later on (if I can find the zen state). kthanx."
There's one thing I would change about my rant last night. I'd take out the joke from Xander's speech about just letting the comics go. People get to read what they want and think what they want. But can I please have a rant, too.
