Veronica - Drama!

I don't like confrontation

I'm an introvert.  When I was a child, I'd hide behind my parents' legs when a stranger would talk to me.  I was a horribly shy child.  And as an adult, I work to conquer this instinct every day.  And it is work.  My natural inclination is to not confront, but I make myself speak up.

Why?  Because I know that confrontation is a good thing.  It really is.  Because when you don't openly confront someone, but let the wound fester, it escalates the problem.  Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away, it just lets the problem become insidious.

So I spent most of today openly confronting people I disagreed with or had conflict in the past.  And I think it was good and helpful and healthy.  But now I'm emotionally and intellectually exhausted.  Maybe if we all just openly confronted each other from the get-go, it needn't become such a big issue?
