Buffy - red and terrible and red

TV, Movies and Poetry

Just started watching Caprica last night and I loved the pilot.  I plan on marathoning all the episodes so I can watch it live this Friday  for JAMES MARSTERS appearance.  Yay!  New show!  Also, while watching I had this vision of future wars being run by two sides where folks battle the way they do in RPGs.  Each side would have their own cylon (think kinda like the movie Gamer only for warfare) and the epic battles would be fought first by the cylons until none were left standing.  It would be like the futuristic version of jousting or dueling, only with cybernetic avatars.

In other news, I got my brother into The Wire last night.  I sent him all the Season 1 download links last night and he just texted me to say: "The Wire is niiiiiiiiice."  Which for my brother means it's awesome.  He loves saying niiiiice in a drawn out sort of way for things he's really into.

I also caught the tail end of the movie G.I. Jane airing last night and enjoyed the inclusion of this poem:

by D. H. Lawrence

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

*Goes to watch Caprica*
