People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their lives they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.
A lot of this fits. I've reached a point where I'm more inclined to scoff at something that's socially acceptable if it's doesn't make sense. Which means I'll embrace taboo things if they make sense to me. Though I do worry about offending others, but then there's times when I really don't care if I offend while going my own way because you can't please everyone and sometimes people get bent out of shape for reasons outside your control. I don't like rudeness. I'm sometimes prone to it myself, but in general yeah I don't like it. And yeah, I can listen to other people's ideas without it affecting my own in as much as anyone can. To some degree, interacting with an idea shapes your own--but I think it's important to form your own thoughts and not just mimic someone else. I do like things to be aesthetically pleasing, but I can also appreciate stark and sharp when used to great effect. Yep, I view things from many different aspects. Haha, realistic pov, but doesn't like new things! Often yeah. I don't like change. If I'm content, I'll stay that way.
